I recently discovered this hidden spot that offers an interesting pizza that breaks away from the usual redundant Neapolitan and the local thick greasy Ottawa-style pizza. For an even better experience, I 'd suggest they increase the sauce quantity (doesn 't have to be crazy), a key feature of NY/Brooklyn pizzas that would help offset the pizza 's saltiness. Additionally, reducing the cheese would allow more of the sauce to peek through, staying true to the NY style I love which features a perfect balance between the crust, sauce, cheese and toppings. While the ingredients like cheese and pepperoni aren 't the finest—understandable since it 's neither a specialized pizzeria nor a fancy Italian eatery— a few tweaks could really change their pizza game, i think they are about 80% there to a true good NY style. There 's a huge potential for any restaurant in Ottawa focusing on authentic NY/Brooklyn-style pizza in Ottawa. I know that void will be filled someday, possibly by this place. I 'm also surprised New York Style Eatery or just the word New York aren 't incorporated in the branding (I didn 't know it was a NY style restaurant until I looked at the menu) and people love New York in general including the food. The menu seems very appealing since I 'd love to try some of the NY inspired dishes. Putting New York in the name would significantly appeal to those in search of a piece of New York without the plane ticket. I 'm rooting for this little spot, and I 'm looking forward to my next order and seeing how this place evolves over time. Ottawa as a growing city going 1 million people desperately needs a New York style Pizzeria. This is the closest thing.
