If you don’t have a cat at home and/or WANT a nice beverage with window watching some cats or sitting in the room with cats then I’d say to give it a go. I just hope the cats aren’t being negatively impacted by the foot traffic. We went to this cafe for the first time and from the booking to the fee and the explanation, I’m sad to say it was greatly underwhelming. I will keep this to the point, what I did NOT like:•How much they charge $18 plus tax per person on “busy times” and how it can be misleading as on their website it says $12 per person.•How their faulty booking system made it so that too many people were booked in our time slot and we had to pick another time/day. Apparently this happens every time their “system updates” which is a little annoying as they know there is an ongoing issue but haven’t fixed it yet they could afford to considering how much they’re charging ? .•The interior could have been more cozy but it felt like a pet shop with a café attached to it.•Cats are naturally pretty restful animals and aren’t hyperactive and jump all over people like dogs , so to pay this much and essentially sit in a room with cats as they hide and sleep and mostly don’t want to play with you is a little sad. NOTHING wrong with the lovely cats!! They were just vibing and trying to live in a space where there’s a lot of newness and smells and sensations.•There was no dry carpet/mat to stand on when taking off your shoes to enter the cat room so it was either try to balance and step in cracks of dryness or get your socks wet, as winter boots track in snow and such.•Your experience with the cats will greatly vary based on how many cats are available and/or what time you go and how active they are as each cat is different. If it were a puppy cafe then the experience would be pretty consistent I think. What I DID Like:•How cute the cats were! They were very chill and tolerant to getting pet so much.•Had one cat that was really playful! Video attached •The toasted coconut latte had a good flavour and it was pretty enjoyable! Not watered down at all.
You don't have to be a cat lover to like the Feline Café in this old Ottawa neighbourhood. All you need is to appreciate the passion of the ppl who operate this uniquely community and volunteer based shop. If you so desire, you may book an appointment to play with the cats in another room (and to possibly request to adopt one only if you want to). Otherwise, you may just enjoy a freshly brewed cup of tea, an oat meal chai, cappuccino, and other drinks and goodies on their menu. And there are other neat handcrafts and stuff to browse in the shop too. Highly recommended !!!
I enjoyed the company of well-behaved kittens in the Feline Cafe. This is my first cat cafe trip in a while. In order to make a visit, you'll need to book a 45-minute time slot at the top of each hour (the remaining 15 minutes are for the cats to rest). The time we booked was for 1 pm. One ticket was $18.08, taxes included. When we arrived, we had to take our boots off so as to avoid any salts from harming the cats. The cafe is divided into two parts: the cafe portion where you enter, and the room with the cats that you enter through the cafe. There were a total of 7 cats when we visited; I don't think any of them were over a year old. As you can guess, cats from the cafe get adopted on a regular basis. During our visit, the cats were either taking their afternoon nap or relaxing. This made it very easy for us to pet them. We noticed that they were more playful during the 2 pm timeslot. After the session, we're given a complementary drink from their selection. I got myself a lavender London fog, which was a great choice. They had merchandise to sell, featuring masks and mugs. They also had a fundraiser with secondhand books that are donated to them: $5 each, $12 for 3.Overall, it's a good experience. I'd recommend anyone who hasn't tried a cat cafe to come here.
My fiancé and I really enjoyed this café! Not only are the drink good, but spending time with cats is always a good time for us. These cats are up for adoption as well! A great way to help some felines in need of a home.
We showed up way too early for our reservation so they offered us the included beverage before hand, which was kind. We were able to escape the cold and watch the cats through the windows from the cafe to the cat lounge. The drinks were delicious and the staff were super friendly. The visit with the cats was so relaxing and enjoyable. It was pretty late in the day so they were sooooo lazy, but it was nice to just sit and chat in their presence and give the occasional chin scratches. The folks at the cafe are doing great work taking care of these cats until they find their forever homes. The selection of food and gift items at the cafe is also great. I took home some vegan marshmallows and hot chocolate mix and they are both so tasty! We will be back for sure.
