For a long time, this hidden gem was a well-kept secret among those in the know. It can be challenging to locate and is hard to find on TripAdvisor. It used to be quite busy when Peter was in charge, but after his passing, his wife Michelle and daughter Rachel have taken over, turning it into a charming old-school country pub featuring real ales and ice cream, along with some packaged bar snacks. Michelle has faced challenges since the retirement age increased, with her pension not due until 2026. In this tough economic climate, she is struggling to keep the pub afloat with a dwindling number of visitors. However, this pub is well worth the effort to visit. The inviting atmosphere inside, the lovely garden outside, and the occasional folk gigs make it a special place. Despite my attempts to review it multiple times, it tends to disappear from TripAdvisor. It often gets mixed up with more upscale and flashy pubs in the area, and I have reported misplaced photos. Bring your loved ones or friends; you won’t be disappointed. Whether you cycle or drive, you’ll enjoy your visit. The Westerham Ales are quite good, so be mindful of your intake! We had a wonderful Sunday afternoon here. The pub is a large, traditional English country establishment, beautifully decorated with a lovely fireplace that would create a cozy atmosphere on a cold winter's night. The staff is friendly and the service is excellent. The locals are welcoming, and the overall vibe is very friendly. The exterior of the pub is also impressive. There's free parking available, and it’s conveniently located near parks and forests.
