Doña Esther Árbol De Montalvo

A small, traditional hotel in the centre of Otavalo. The rooms are dated and not a 4 star quality. It is also extremely cold in them, as no heating available (we had the rooftop small appartement which comes with a fireplace luckily). But it is a tradional atmosphere, the rooftop terrace is very nice and good quality towels and bedding. The restaurant is very good and the service very friendly. It is a nice base for a few days in Otavalo if one doesn't mind cold rooms and a bit dated.

I had the best stay at this beautiful place! The hotel, the courtyard and the rooms look so lovely and everything is very well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant offers fantastic fresh dishes that you don't find anywhere else in the area and their pizza oven is a treasure. Otavalo itself is lovely with the famous market and perfect as a base for trips in the region. Highly recommend!!!

We stayed 4 nights at Hotel Dona Esther. A thoughtfully and beautifully put together hotel with restaurant. Conveniently situated in the heart of the town. The food in the restaurant was divine. A wonderful menu to choose from and very generous portions. Breakfast was included and again, a pleasure. Beds comfortable and nice hot showers with good pressure. I would highly recommend this unique hotel to anyone staying in Otavalo.

Beautiful hotel. Rooms are basic but really nice, good (locally made) furniture and decorations, a lovely hot shower and very clean. Staff and owners are friendly and always ready to help. Very good restaurant, best and inventive meals I had in Ecuador.

We had a delicious dinner and then comfortable stay and wonderful included breakfast the next morning. Love the atmosphere and people at this place. Wish we could've stayed longer!
