Sushizanmai Otaru Store

Absolutely delicious. The sushi in northern Japan is phenomenal. I recommend ordering off the おすすめ menu for their recommendations. The staff was so friendly and kind.

Hospitality wasn't as good as expected, not rude but i just don't feel that welcome attitude. Food also not as good as the tokyo tsukiji branch. A bit surprise cause hokkaido produce a lot of seafood but they have less in this otaru branch. I d not know if it because i came at very late evening or not. Price wise i believe also more expensive compare to tsukiji brand.

Expensive store that had some issue giving out receipts with breakdown, it seems. Service was somewhat lukewarm, was waiting for several minutes despite seeing empty tables. There was an English menu. Food was just ok, but portions small. Sake choice was limited (had hot sake, but somewhat not delicious as compared to previous ones I had) The best item we had was actually the fried chicken.

Food was good . One of the most affordable ones in the neighbourhood. The chef looked grumpy but the waitress was smiley. This is a common food chain in Japan but somehow it tasted better in Otaru.

Fresh, large pieces of sushi and delicious miso soup! Good service as well! We will be going back for more!
