Lamb quality is not out of the world to be honest but 3 things made the restaurant awesome! 1. The griller, it’s deeper then what we usually see. When you put onion and bean spout in it, there is more space for them to cook and lamb oil is more concentrate! Thus more delicious! 2. The sauce! It’s not as salty and able to bring out the flavor of the meat! The taste is just right! Oh yes, it said it has veggie in it! 3. The charcoal. Finally, the not so friendly owner. Once you start talking to her, she is very nice indeed!!! Our daughter forgot where her hat was and the owner tried her best to help! Dealing with a lot of tourist sometime is pretty stressful, if you put yourself in her shoes, you will understand!
Small and cosy Jinsiukan joint. Tiny restaurant with 4 charcoal stoves and seats for less than 10 people. The young male chef/waiter/only staff member was very helpful. Simple menu with 2 types of lamb (normal or steak). Would go again.
My favourite grilled lamb place in Hokkaido! Lamb is great but what stands out is the bean sprout onion mix with their sauce. Just divine! We have revisited this shop numerous times for the past few years. Last ski trip saw us going back four times in five days. Just really yummy. It’s a tourist area, so you can imagine the rent is high. Please order one portion of meat per person. And you can store your coats under your stool from the front. Otherwise I guarantee your coats really smell afterwards. LOL.
Never miss this place if you like tasty grilled mutton. You can google 小樽ジンギスカン倶楽部 for all branches. I have tasted some lamb restaurants in Hokkaido. This is the best place for grill lamb. They simply serving great lamb and draft beer. Some would say the service is poor, but we 're here for the gamy and savory mutton~ Cheers
I ate Jingisukan alone. In Otaru, are there many shops of such a feeling? I eat while grilling a ram after putting a pan on the clay charcoal stove at a counter. Spread pretty good good flavor; had.
