This is my first time writing a review ever in my 25 years of lifeWhen I say the food is horrible it's horrible.

My mom had reserved a table for 4 (my stepdad's bd) for 6pm on Saturday. My mom had cut out coupons for the 19.99 special - included a starter, meal (either steak, ribs/wings or fish and chips) and a pint or glass of wine. Our waitress, Amanda, was lovely. By mistake (waitress didn't have full knowledge of coupon special) we were offered options of draft beers, not knowing we didn't have a choice and only option was a house draft. After our drafts arrived, we were notified by another staff member that we shouldn't have gotten this, and that we could get our house beer when we were ready. None of us drink much, so we never ordered one. In the meantime, the meals were very good - I brought home a large piece of fish as I had 2 huge ones on my plate, and my mom packaged up some wings and ribs. They also brought a piece of cake for my stepdad as they knew it was his birthday. When the bill arrived, they did not charge us any extra for the beer (the right thing to do), and the cake (as expected) was free. So our first experience was good. Good service, good food. We will return. Thank you Amanda and staff. :)

I drive past Whisky John's several times a week because my son has games/practices at the Oshawa Civic which is just around the corner. Tonight 4 parents decided to gather before our sons' practice. Tonight wings were 69 cents (Tuesdays and Thursdays) each, or a pound for just over $4. We sat out on the patio. Our server was wonderful...gave us more time than needed to order drinks and then came back for the food orders. For me, a pound of suicide wings (closer to hot) and 2 pints of Guinness was only $20. I paid $33 for the same at another restaurant a block away last week. Needless to say, Whisky John's will be our regular pre-practice meeting spot from now on.
