Takoyaki Yamachan Honten - Osaka

Takoyaki town near the station. Although I did not realize that the original is without “all” sauce, it is still amazing!

The takoyakis were well prepared, however I felt that they were too hot to eat, and they use very minimum octopus. However they were still tasty. They were really fast at making them, however I think that's the same reason it's too hot to eat. When you eat them, they break, and it's really hard to eat them without making a mess.

Minimum order of 8 pieces which was a tad too much for me as I was travelling alone. Nevertheless, loved the crispy outer crust and this was served piping hot. Would have preferred a slightly larger piece of octopus in each takoyaki though.

We got 6 for ¥600 but you can get a better deal with larger quantities. If you get 6 it comes on a plate vs box which works if you’re eating there. The takoyaki is VERY hot so let it cool down before eating. The outside texture was really good. I gave 4 stars for the flavour but I would give 3.5 if it were an option as there is just a small piece of octopus in each.

Too soft and mushy inside, though the outer crust and sauce was decent.
