The food is ok, however the customer service is THE WORST service known to man! The entitlement attitude is disgusting!!! I need the owner to understand that I/me/the customer chooses where I spend my money! I will support a business with ok food and excellent service!!! However I WILL NOT continue to support a business that has ok food with horrible customer service. I AM DONE!!!!!!!
I LOVE this place! They're always friendly, smiling, and helpful. The food is always tasty, fresh, and seasoned perfectly! It's take-out only, which isn't that bad. You can also call ahead if you don't want to wait in line.
A former co worker recommended this establishment and I was in the area and gave it a try, and happy I did! They had a a special with an entree, choice of rice and a vegetable for $7.95. I chose the meatloaf, brown rice and beans. The special also includes cornbread. I was hoping they had greens, however the menu changes daily. The beans however did not disappoint! Not sure what was in them, but an awesome tadte! The meatloaf was absolutely delicious, and although I'm not a fan of cornbread, it was good. The restaurant is in a small strip center which appeared to be compromised of minority owned businesses. It is extremely small, and they ask that only three customers in there at a time. There is no seating, however there is apparently a room upstairs for groups. The staff was amazing! I mentioned that I'd never had oxtail before, and not only gave me a small sample, but taught me how to eat it after I requested a fork! Lol I'll definitely be back when in the area!
I grew up in South Georgia so I've had a lot of experience with soul food. This is probably one of the best tasting and most authentic places I've had since I moved to Florida it is true home cooking. The selection has a variety of foods from country fried steak, to oxtail stew, to fried catfish. Along with an assortment of sides.I got the fried catfish with collard greens and rutabaga (which I was thrilled to see both sides as they aren't common at restaurants). The catfish was the best I've had in years and the collards and rutabaga are better than I've had at any other restaurant. I also tasted my girlfriend's oxtail and it was amazing as well. The people here are so friendly as well and go above and beyond for service. They are super polite and fun to talk with and will bring your good out to you when you're ready. The seating at the place is a bit limited as it seems they primarily service takeaway orders , but there are a couple of tables and several chairs if you'd like to eat on site. Parking is a little limited looking but I had no trouble parking and I don't know how busy the place normally gets but I had no trouble parking Saturday afternoon. If you're looking for a true Southern home cooked meal you absolutely should go here and if you've never had this kinda cooking you need to go here and experience it !
