Saffron Indian Restaurant Bar - Orinda

The chicken tikka and lamb vindaloo were delicious, but unfortunately, the mattar paneer, which is usually my favorite, was inedible this time. It was soupy, contained only a few peas, and had no flavor whatsoever. We ended up having to throw it down the disposal. I'm not sure what went wrong. Saffron is usually our top choice for local Indian cuisine, so I hope this was just a one-off experience.

We requested our meal to be "mild," but every dish except for the saag paneer was excessively spicy and nearly inedible. Even the Chicken Parda Biryani was extremely hot. It was really disappointing to spend so much money on a meal that we couldn't enjoy most of.

The Butter Chicken and Lamb Samosa were excellent. However, the Naan could have been more flavorful and crispy.

The food is amazing and the ability to order chutneys seperately is great. The Vegetable Pakora (6) were fire. The Potato Peas Samosa (2) were also fire. We loved it all. Recomend 100

The best Indian food I've ever experienced! This reminds me of the time I lived in India in the early 2000s. The service was outstanding, and the menu offered a wonderful variety. The ingredients were incredibly fresh and everything was exceptional! I've already made two reservations for the upcoming weeks!
