The Point Casual Eatery - Orillia

Went for lunch. Food was ok, but not great. Menu uninspired. Don't enjoy being served a can of coke set beside a plastic glass and being charged $2 for it!

They have ALL Day Breakfast and the choice of the Hungry Man Breakfast is very satisfying, We were here on Sunday about noon and our friends had breakfast. We opted fro the Chicken Club with soup and that was very good also.

We dined at The Point on August 1, 2015 for lunch. It was a beautiful afternoon and opted to sit on theIr large patio. Our server was friendly and took our order in a timely manner.We decided to try dishes from their all day breakfast (includes coffee/tea) menu. I ordered the breakfast poutine (poutine topped with 2 over easy eggs and either bacon or ham). It was quite good ... the fries were great!The service declined once the restaurant started to get busy. We had to look for a server in order to pay our bill. Note that during the time of our visit (beginning of August), this establishment did not have a liquor license, so we were unable to order any alcoholic beverages.

We were staying at The Best Western Couchiching in Orillia and my daughter and I were looking for a place to eat where we would be able to bring our dog Monty. Right next to the hotel was a rundown looking restaurant called the Point. We decided to try it because it had a patio and figured they might allow us have our dog sit with us - which they did.The woman who served us was super friendly and even offered to bring a container of water out for our dog - which was much appreciated since it was really hot out.We ordered the wings, onion rings and a grilled cheese sandwich with ham. The wings and the grilled cheese turned out to be one of the best we've ever had. The onion rings needed some work - they were not crispy enough. They should invest in some umbrellas to help protect you from the sun, but overall we had a surprisingly good experience.

We went to breakfast there Sunday May 24/15 about 9:30 am. We were the first people there. We were given menus and coffee - off to good start. We then ordered our food. Another couple came in and then a lady by herself. We asked for more coffee and waited and waited. First the food came out for the couple who came in third and then the food for the single lady. We asked where our food was. This was after a half hour or so.The waitress went to look and finally came back with it. The home fries with my husband's were deep fried and not great. I had the mashed with onions but they were over fried and dried out. Therefore we will not go back,, unless down the road we hear that they have really improved as there are so many places to go to that are real good.
