Great place to eat if you're staying at the Renaissance Hotel and you want to eat something off the resort. The cobb salad, fish tacos and jumbalaya were all great items. Bill came out to a little more than $50. Only problem was most of the tables were wobbly so we had to switch tables and service was fine but a little slow.
Sit by the balcony for a cool view of the main strip in town and the huge cruise ships. Service is pretty good consistently over the years. Been coming here for ages. It's a fun looking restaurant and it sells t-shirts and stuff. Mom has liked their shirts and bought a few. Love their kesha yena- I have no idea how to spell it. It's a local/Dutch dish and it's delicious. It has delicious Gouda cheese on top of chicken and it's amazing. And their Mac n cheese is great. My daughter loves it! They also have fantastic nachos. Fun bar at night. Some of the booze bus trips will hit it so you can have fun here. Definitely a restaurant we try to hit each year we're here.
Iguana joes is a favorite of mine and I usually stop here a couple of times when I'm on the island. It's easy to get a parking spot across the street when you come for dinner Not so easy for lunch. The food is very good. My personal favorite is the nachos. I get chicken and beef. And it's more than enough for a meal. You could easily have 3 to 4 people sharing it as an appetizer. For a main course I like their Keisha Yena. It's an Aruban dish with spiced chicken cooked in gouda cheese. The drinks are very good. They have a lot of specialty drinks. Give the pink iguana a try. It's by no means a gourmet restaurant. But I'm sure you'll find something on the menu that you'll love.
The goodness stops with the friendly staff and the Mojito! I've had Jambalaya numerous times and this has to be the worst representation of a classic dish. The chicken was a frozen mess, the shrimp tasted like wet noodles, the rice could have fed a family of 12 and the sausage tasted like a stale hotdog. The My wife took 2 bites of Chicken Taco salad and called it quits!
Surprised this place was empty, but I think it's a new location so who knows. At any rate, the fam was happy. Food and drinks were good, server was awesome, and cool atmosphere, even though it was mostly empty. Started with chips and a ton of salsa (got more chips for free) and coconut shrimp. Jerk chicken, Caesar blt wrap, taco salad, fish tacos (AWESOME), and steak. No dessert because we were sugared up enough before. Kids happy? Mom happy? Then dad's happy.
