The Gate Resturant at the Oriana Motel

Went for dinner on Monday. We were virtually the only ones in there. Wanted the fish pie, but they can't make it on Monday due to lack of fish (even though it was on the menu), settled for the chicken pie. The food we ordered took around 45 minutes to arrive, which is kinda disappointing, unsure if it was made from scratch, but no notice was made.As for the dining area. Serious need of a facelift. Noticed a full missing chandelier but with an open light fitting. Not a good look.The food ( when it arrives) is alright however.

Use to live here in the past. Change and change, was enticed to return with the promise of good meals. Sorry but guys i can get better at McDonals. Warmer also. Bar was good.

I ordered the prawn entree and the rack of lamb cooked medium rare. The prawn entree was very generous in serving size and delicious in taste. The lamb was cooked perfectly, the veggies were crisp and the sauce was fabulous. The staff were friendly and nothing was too difficult. I would highly rate this restaurant to anyone who enjoys tasty but generous in size meals.

For those staying in the hotel, the breakfast is served here and is generally well-stocked. Coffee is excellent, and pastry selection very good. Have rated this "average", but for Orange it is probably above Average.

An unexpectedly good quality meal for a motel and good service. I enjoyed modern Australian menu, with reasonable wine.
