Contribuiți la feedbackWe started with an order of Roasted Sweet Potato Fries ($4.75), served with an absolutely delicious Chipotle Ranch dipping sauce—I want that sauce on everything! The fries were piping hot, but the insides were a little soft and soggy, lacking the crispness you expect from fries, though the flavors were fantastic. Two of my coworkers chose the Taco Salad ($10.75), which features Roasted Buffalo Cauliflower as the protein, along with black beans, tomatoes, corn, sliced olives on a bed of greens, topped with sliced avocado and pepitas. They both seemed quite happy with their meals, particularly enjoying the flavor of the cauliflower. My other coworker opted for the Classic Cheeseburger ($11), made with a house-made patty, crispy lettuce, a potato bun, and oven-roasted tomato spread, along with his choice of cheese. Unfortunately, he was less pleased with his meal and felt a bit hungry even after finishing it. I was torn between the Breakfast Pizza ($12.95) and the Breakfast Taco ($9.95). Cynthia, who assisted me with my order, highly recommended the Breakfast Pizza, so I took her advice. This delightful pizza is a flatbread topped with mozzarella and gouda cheeses, scrambled eggs, house-made sausage, bacon, tomatoes, and onions. It was presented in a cute heart shape! I loved the combination of cheese, eggs, tomatoes, and onions, though I found the faux sausage and bacon a bit salty for my taste. Still, it was delicious, and I was the only one in the group with leftovers to take home. I can’t recall what everyone had for drinks, but there’s water available for self-service if you didn’t order a drink. I tried their Pomegranate Rosehip Kombucha ($5.50), but I couldn't detect any standout flavors in it. I generally love kombucha, but I doubt I’d order this one again. A special shout-out to Cynthia, who was incredibly sweet and helpful! Mead's is a fantastic spot for vegetarians, vegans, or really anyone, as the food is surprisingly flavorful, making you forget there's no meat involved! However, I did think the food was a little pricey, as my coworkers seemed to feel hungry soon after our meal. Overall, it’s still a wonderful place to eat.
One of our favorite restaurants! The ambiance is fantastic, and we really appreciate the decor. The food is delicious; we've sampled many dishes, and everything has been outstanding. They offer a wide variety of vegan options on the menu, and they’re happy to make any dish vegan upon request. Whether you visit for breakfast or dinner, you'll find plenty of choices, and we loved everything we tried!
Now, about the food, which was quite underwhelming. **Breakfast Quesadilla**: A quesadilla typically suggests cheese, but this one had hardly any. It consisted of fried eggs mixed with shredded carrots, diced onions, and bits of broccoli, all wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. Without cheese, the eggs didn’t even stick to the tortilla. It came with sour cream and guacamole; while the guacamole was decent, the sour cream tasted off. I’d rate this a 1/5, as it was largely uneaten—just not good at all. **Chili Eggs**: My wife found this dish to be okay, but it was watery and lacked flavor. From the way it looked, I didn't even feel tempted to try it. **Buffalo Cauliflower**: This was essentially plain cauliflower with a sprinkle of something that gave it the color of buffalo sauce without any real flavor. We each tried a floret, but only one. The dipping sauce was overly sweet and felt out of place. I’d rate this a 1/5 as well (and I ended up tossing it). **Buffalo Cauliflower Pizza**: This dish tasted exactly like the cauliflower dish—it was almost identical, but served on focaccia with minimal cheese and no sauce. It included kale, which didn’t add anything meaningful. The description was apt: it tasted like cauliflower on bread. One diner seemed to enjoy it, as she prefers food with very little flavor. **BLT**: Now, this was the standout dish for us, with two of us ordering it. It was well toasted and filled with healthy toppings, including avocado, lettuce, tomato, and thin strips of fake bacon called Bak'n. It also had a very thin slice of what I believe was smoked gouda. The Bak'n resembled dog treats from commercials, and I’d venture to say that even those might have been an improvement. While it wasn’t bad, I wouldn’t order it again—it lacked the expected flavors and texture of real bacon and didn’t have any mayo, which are essential components. I’d give it a 2/5. I understand that healthy food can be delicious; I’ve made it myself and had it in other places where it was full of flavor and a pleasant surprise. However, this restaurant, despite its generally favorable reviews, was the most surprising letdown I’ve encountered on Yelp. It’s a cool spot, but ultimately disappointing. Out of the five of us who had lunch, one person enjoyed the BLT while the other four described their meals as tasteless.
We met here to enJOY some healthy food, company and conversation. We found a table after we ordered near the entrance in a small room that helped with a bit of privacy as a group of friends caught up on ole' times, current life events and future goals. The only thing is that it was a bit hard to hear when our order was ready. Otherwise, the food was delicious! We got the morning stack, breakfast burrito, and breakfast tacos. The breakfast burrito was earthy and yummy at the same time. The morning stack was just the right bites of breakfast food. The breakfast tacos were so flavorful and I appreciated the avocado slices on top plus side arugula salad to set of the spice. I got a couple of vegan baked goods to go. The strawberry scone had just the balance of light sweetness and the lavender chocolate cupcake was moist and balanced well without overpowering dark chocolate. Overall yummy.
I rate this 3 stars now and would come back to re-evaluate the menu once more. It's so difficult to find a vegan, vegetarian restaurant in the oc so I was really hoping this place would be my go to. I ordered the cajuc chickn gotta , my sister ordered the classic cheeseburger and we shared some sweet potato fries. We came in starving and ready to eat but had to wait for 35 minutes or so until our food was ready. I didn't think anyone can ruin fries but what was presented was a soggy, soft hotmess. The cajun chickn gotta was pleasantly good in the beginning but the as I continued eating it, the sauce was getting scarce and the bites became bland. My sister had the same set of feelings with her cheeseburger. Overall experience was okay, we will meet again someday and hopefully I get a tastier bite.
