When we finally made the trip to California for a family wedding, everyone wanted to get together before the event for dinner. We had a fairly large party (I think it was 10 adults total), and our reservation was definitely somewhat last-minute. However, Gabbi's was able to set us up with a sidewalk table large enough to fit all of us. We're a boisterous bunch, which is a polite way of saying we're very loud and were easily excited by the margarita options available. Most of us decided to copy one another and get the coco tropical margarita and it was SO delicious. It was hot and humid outside, and this felt like a trip to the beach without the sand. It was a pretty hot day, but Gabbi's has umbrellas to provide some shade for sidewalk tables. There was quite a bit of pedestrian traffic, which was sometimes not so great. We were given large bottles of ice water to keep us cool until our margaritas arrived, and these bottles were regularly refilled. Our food came out surprisingly fast despite how many plates were involved. I had the carnitas norteñas and it was delicious. Many bites were stolen off my plate by my husband, who got the shrimp and spinach enchiladas. Our waitress was friendly and undaunted by the large party at our table, and took several (very good, btw) pictures of us. Great service, and I will happily come back next year!
I like it real thick and juicy.; Now that the good weather has finally arrived to Orange County, my wife and I were in the mood for some burgers and wanted to try a new place. I came upon American Grub located 15 minutes away from us. After checking out the reviews, the photos, and the menu options, we felt this was the perfect place for us to try. We weren't disappointed. We were promptly seated, he then took our drink orders and since we had checked out their menu options prior to getting there, when our drinks came, our food orders were taken. The location of the place is in a real nice section of Old Tustin with easy parking access, not sure what it's like during the height of dinner hours, we were there around 4pm on a Thursday. There was plenty of seating inside with additional patio seating. The look and feel of the place had a very comfortable vibe. Once our burgers came and perfectly cooked per our requests, they were delicious. We also highly recommend the potato salad, a small side came with the burgers and I almost ordered a full portion to take home since it was so good. As far as the french fries go, also the best we've had in a real long time even plain and a lot of options on what you'd like on them if you prefer. We weren't able to finish our portions since we wanted to leave room to try some deserts. We tried their peach cobbler with ice cream, yummy! All to say, we highly recommend you give this place a try if you're looking for plenty of good food, in a nice comfortable environment, and all reasonably priced, enjoy!
I started my lunch off with a refreshing hibiscus flavored margarita called La Catrina our waitress recommended it, perfect choice! The taquitos con salsa verde were a delicious appetizer very authentic great flavor! And the best part of my Lunch were the Gorditas Al Pastor the pineapple and Serrano salsa just made my mouth water for more!! The restaurant was small and cozy and authentic hacienda style atmosphere! Definitely will be visiting again soon!
Quaint ambiance. Food selection was great. Cocktails hit the spot. Came in a on a busy Saturday night but still managed to get good service.
The food, margaritas and costumer service here are always great. The restaurant is clean the service is fast, the cooks never miss and the food is always fresh and tasty! Highly recommend and I'll definitely be back for the margaritas and tacos!
