The food was excellent! The service was outstanding. Out waiter was attentive in just the right amount. He had a good sense of humor. The room was beautiful. We sat next to the fireplace.
My wife and I went for dinner before seeing a concert at the Holland. Reservations at 5:30 casual comfortable stress-free dining finished up at seven and headed to the show. The smoked beet salad, fried grouper, and braised short ribs were all amazing!
Great atmosphere that's worth a visit even for appetizers and drinks. The **** Mary shrimp are a deconstructed deviled egg with wood fired grilled shrimp and a shot of **** mary mix to pour over it. Only 3 shrimp deviled eggs, wish there were 4 to equally share among a couple. We had steaks, fillet NY strip. Both were grilled perfect. My baked potatoes came without any of the loaded stuff I ordered (even ordered extra loaded sides). Food was excellent, but service was REALLY slow, at least from our server who eventually disappeared and never showed up again. We had to cash out with a different server. Took way too long to come by to take our dinner order, follow up drinks order. It took about an hour after ordering the steaks to actually getting them. Total time for dinner was 2.5 hours.
This was possibly the best meal we have had at any restaurant. The charcuterie was just the right size for an appetizer, and the local honey is a must-have. I had the scallops as my entree. They were cooked to perfection, and the smoke added another layer of flavor. I recommend ordering the scallops for the presentation as well. I paired the entree with the octopus. Again, the food was cooked to perfection. I liked that the fingerlings were still a bit firm, as the octopus was extremely tender. The chilies and the chili purée really rounded out the dish. My wife had the New York strip, and this was the BEST strip steak I have ever tasted. The seasoned salt on the side was like nothing I had ever tasted. She had shrimp and polenta as her side and said that was amazing. Additionally, our waiter, Chris, was one of the best, if not the best, that I have ever encountered. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything on the menu, and he gave us the perfect amount of attention. We are definitely moving Dynamite to the top of our list and look forward to the next visit!
