Dante - Omaha

We just love this place. We come here every time we're in the area. This is a fantastic place to come and just have a nice dinner and have a few drinks and enjoy a good conversation.

We arrived at 7:30pm. The crowd was thinning slowly. We ordered two pizzas. Two pizzas!!! Guess what? It took them 50 minutes (yes 50 minutes) to deliver two pizzas to our table. Before that, we had to return one plate back as it was not clean. Of course, the attendant promptly replaced the plate. I can't recall any fine dining pizzeria experience where we had to wait for such a looong time before being served food. The quality of pizza did not come close to the high prices. In other words, very poor value for money.

The 3 of us shared a large dinner salad. One ordered the pesto pasta, one bolognese and one squid ink pasta. All were good;small portions. We shared the gelato flight, which was perfect amount for a couple of tastes. The pistachio was the best. The lattes were also good. Service was ok, we waited for the server several times. The restaurant was not busy.

Not going to say the food wasn’t good. It was ok. Myself and another lady at the table both agreed that it lacked flavor. Got the Primo pizza lots of burnt spots) and then for dessert got the Tiramisu. My son didn’t care for the Tiramisu and I thought it seemed like it was missing the main component. espresso on the bottom)To my son and I, all the food was just boring. Someone in our party said one of the oils tastes like cardboard. I do like that they use good greens not iceberg )for the salads. The waiter never asked if we needed anything else to drink other than the water that was already there on the table when we got there 2 fam member sitting at the table already). The chairs we sat on were horrible and not one person at our table didn’t say that as they sat down for the first time. Personally, since I live in Bellevue, I won’t be back. Not worth the trip for me. If someone was to tell me that I just have to try a certain dish there, I might come back.

Was really looking forward to trying Dante for my wife's birthday. It was incredibly hot in there, which hey that happens sometimes. Mayb the hvac was struggling on a hot day. Food was good, prices sorta high but I get it. West Omaha and all...what really is hurting the score was the service. Our server Kim never introduced herself. Just walked up to the table after about 10ish minuets and said are you ready to order. Didn't offer us any appetizers. We waited about 35 minutes for our food, which again, I'm a restaurant guy sometimes that happens. She did ask us if we wanted dessert. But after she never even brought my wife the 2nd drink she ordered we decided to leave, rather than wait any longer. Very disappointing service. No engagement, no upselling, no personality. Prob won't return.
