Azteca Family Mexican - Omaha

I occasionally stop by Azteca for lunch. They offer great daily specials and the service is always quick and friendly. The chips, salsa, and bean dip are delicious. While I wouldn't say it's truly authentic Mexican cuisine, I would consider it more of a Tex-Mex place, which is still tasty.

I recently went to Okkassion to Azteca with my sister and we were both disappointed with our experience. While they did offer complimentary salsas and beans with the chips, the food itself was not enjoyable. The cauliflower salsa was a letdown and lacked flavor. As someone who has lived in Mexico and knows what authentic Mexican cuisine should taste like, I found the food to be greasy and bland. My mixed fajitas were lacking in taste, despite appearing to be coated in chili powder. The beans were also flavorless, both the refried and fried varieties. The service was adequate but not very friendly towards non-Spanish speaking customers. The prices were comparable to other Mexican restaurants, but I would prefer to dine elsewhere next time.

Delicious and good value for money. The best dish is the arroz con pollo, which is their signature dish. It's a generous portion that could easily feed two people. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The garnishes and sauces that come with the chips are also delicious. The restaurant is a cozy little hole in the wall. If you're in the area and craving Mexican food, this is the place to go.

Go away. the staff was polite. cheese dip was bland, tasted like velvet and milk. spinach enchilada was filled with what looked like a year old spinat and artichoke. except it was brown. the sweet was picked up. were watered. reis was quite normal. that was the first time I remember taking a bit of an enchilada and giving up.
