Simple And Delicious Donut Shop

I've been coming here for a few years now. They continue to be the best donut shop in Lacey/Olympia area. Everything is so fresh and customer service is always great. They've recently added conchas and pan. Now, I'm a huge concha connoisseur. And wow these are as huge ans delicious as the ones you get in Mexico. If not better. They are the freshest ones I've ever had. Make sure you get there early. Or everything will be picked over. For a reason ?

I've been coming here since they've opened and the quality and selection has gone significantly downhill. I had to delete my positive review from 4 years ago because I can't recommend this place anymore. It started off as the best doughnut shop in town, but now it's devolved into a typical Latin American bakery which all seem to offer beautiful-looking, dry, crumbly and bad tasting baked goods. They have very few doughnuts to choose from anymore, and I've been getting day-olds sometimes. The prices here have gone up enough to make it no longer worth the gamble to see if they're going to have fresh donuts, with a good variety or dry ones with only a few selections. They're stretching themselves out with the addition of Latin American baked goods, which has made this place no longer simple nor delicious.

However, I must admit that I was a bit underwhelmed by the donuts. While they were not bad, they were just remarkably average and didn't really stand out compared to other donut shops I've been to. While I appreciate the effort and care that goes into making donuts, I was hoping for a more impressive product based on the reviews. We used to purchase vegan donuts from this place a couple of times each month on the weekends (Friday to Sunday), as they were one of the few nearby spots that offered delicious vegan options. However, on our recent visits, they didn’t have any vegan donuts available. That’s why I’m giving it a 3-star rating. On a positive note, the owner and staff are always friendly, and the shop is clean. Their specialty donuts are a bit pricey, but we’re happy to pay a little extra to support businesses that align with our lifestyle.
