Bayview Thriftway - Olympia

The staff here is incredibly friendly. The deli is excellent, offering a fantastic selection and all the essential items you'd expect from a grocery store. While the prices are slightly higher, it's understandable given the downtown location. I visit multiple times a week and always find everything I need.

There were several of us placing orders, and we received different instructions regarding when and where to pay for our food, which has now moved to the check stands up front. Some customers were told to pay up front and headed upstairs thinking they needed to settle the bill before leaving, while others were actually yelled at for following those who already had their food and went upstairs instead of paying first. Additionally, because meals are prepared fresh and come out at different times—some hot and some cold—having to wait in the grocery checkout line after collecting all the food meant we couldn't eat together. This also resulted in some of us having cold food due to varying wait times. It was much more efficient when there was a cashier in the deli area. If it’s not possible to bring back that position at the moment, it would be extremely helpful to provide customers with an 'invoice' of their full order when it’s taken, allowing for pre-payment while the food is being prepared. This could significantly reduce frustration for both customers and deli staff. On a positive note, my sandwich was absolutely amazing! I truly hope Bayview can reinstate the cashier role soon or implement a simple solution like the one I've suggested.

My new favorite grocery store! It's not too far from my home, but there are three other grocery stores that are closer, yet I find myself driving to this one instead. While some items are pricier, the quality is outstanding. They carry brands I can't find anywhere else in town, along with special occasion items that remind me of Houston's Central Market. The meat and seafood here are of better quality compared to the stores closer to me. The staff are consistently friendly, and there’s a wonderful sense of camaraderie among them. Additionally, I feel good about supporting a local family-owned business that has been part of the community for decades.

Interesting product selection. Not just the run of the mill grocery selection. Sold out of several things and they do provide a lot of their own product. Some things seemed reasonably priced, but some seemed pretty pricey. Just have to watch. Would not be my everyday grocer, but would go if I was looking for something a little different.

Love coming here. Great natural foods. Always a good experience. Lovin' it. Like the views and plants. Upstairs is a good meeting room to have meetings or business.
