Aurora - Old Tappan

We visited this restaurant to celebrate the birthdays of my niece and nephew. Our group consisted of 14 people and we were seated in a semi-private room. The staff was very attentive, the food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meals. The Sambrino dessert was fantastic, as well as the steak which was a popular choice among our group. We definitely plan on returning and would recommend this restaurant to others.

We have been to the restaurant several times in the past and each time it was excellent. In the few months since we were last year, the quality of the food dropped considerable. Three of our four meals came out luke warm at best. My wife had a shrimp and scallop special and there were2 shrimp and 2 scallops and a lot of vegetables. I had linguine and white clam sauce and it was very bland despite having extra roasted garlic. The service also has gone down as well. The restaurant was less than half full on a Saturday night and I guess others have had a similar experince.

Service and cocktails were excellent. We have dined there many times for lunch and dinner. The food has changed. My seared tuna was too salty and different from previous times I have ordered it. Apps were ok, not as good as before. Same with desserts.

I have dined at this restaurant for the second time and unfortunately, the food did not live up to our previous experience. My friends and I were quite disappointed with our dinner overall, although we did find the Branzino to be very good.

This is my second visit to this restaurant. The food is consistently delicious, but it can be quite loud.
