Taqueria El Camino - Oklahoma City

I am convinced this place has the best tacos in Oklahoma. I know that's subjective, but I'm a fan. Any kind of seafood taco can be questionable this far from the sea, but their shrimp and fish tacos are all excellent. I have yet to try anything here that I don't like.

Please don't cut your burritos sideways it destroys the integrity of the burrito structure and makes it infinitely harder to eat. I understand the desire to show off whats inside but the same effect can be achieved by cutting vertically without sacrificing the eating experience. Pretty good vegan chorizo burrito. Fun vibes. love the music.

What could really elevate this place is having a selection of sauces available at the table, beyond the typical store-bought hot sauces. If they did something like OSO Paseo in Oklahoma City, they could be onto something great. Overall, I think the taco sizes should be larger for the price they're charging.

We also ordered a trio of dips with chips, but we only received queso and salsa. For $10, that felt excessive, and when we got home, we realized we were missing the guacamole, which made us feel cheated. The portions were very small (see photo). In summary, be sure to customize your order and either ask for a side of salsa or skip it altogether, and make sure to order more than you think you’ll need, as the portions are tiny. Also, double-check your order before leaving. However, we recommend trying somewhere else instead. We really wanted to enjoy this place, but we probably won’t be returning. We went on Cinco de Mayo and took into account how busy they were, but the issues with portion sizes and spice levels had nothing to do with the crowd or timing.

We recently visited Taqueria El Camino in the Edmond Railyard for the first time, and it definitely won't be our last! I was pleased to see all the employees wearing masks, and I made sure to thank them for it. The other customers were wearing masks as well, which was great to see. While my taquitos could have had more spice, I tend to prefer a lot of heat, which isn't common in this area, so I completely understand. Next time, I’ll be sure to request the hot salsas. The patio was also fantastic for social distancing!
