Mcclintock Saloon Chop House

I took my wife to this restaurant and I ordered the 14 oz Ribeye, while she chose the pork chop. Unfortunately, the pork chop wasn't cooked properly, and half of my Ribeye was mostly fat. I don’t mind a little fat, but this was excessive. On a positive note, our waiter was fantastic and only charged me for my meal.

It was not busy when we went in and yet we still had to wait while the host ran around. Once st the table we asked for kid menus.... about 10 minutes later a different lady came and had the kid options hand written bc they couldn't get it to print....this whole time no one took our drink order ..... then my husband's drink was empty for a while before he got a refill..... the food was good but service was definitely spoty.....for the cost it's not worth it in my book

Right away, we noticed that the restaurant was only about half full, and it remained that way throughout the evening, with several tables around us remaining unoccupied the entire time. A bit unusual, but we were willing to overlook it. We both ordered drinks: my husband chose a beer, while I opted for an old fashioned. The bartender wasn’t particularly friendly. My husband’s beer arrived with a heavy froth, leaving about a third of the glass filled with foam, and there was no offer to top it off or provide another one. We decided to start with the deviled eggs after hearing recommendations from the couple next to us. Unfortunately, the deviled eggs were bland and lacked any seasoning aside from the paprika sprinkled on top. They also turned out to be quite dry, and we couldn’t even finish them. The wedge salad we ordered was acceptable but nothing exceptional. For our main courses, I had a filet, and my husband chose a ribeye. My steak was enjoyable, and I appreciated the grilled jalapeño that accompanied each meal. However, my husband’s ribeye was overcooked initially, but they brought him a replacement that was cooked properly, though it was completely unseasoned the second time around—no salt, nothing. The sides were forgettable as well. Overall, we left feeling it was a poor use of our money, and the service did not meet our expectations.

I've attached some pictures to illustrate my concerns. The chicken-fried steak arrived warm rather than hot, was overly salty, and contained about 80% breading. The meat itself was bland and of low quality; I've had frozen dinners with more meat and flavor. The gravy was lumpy and had a skin on top, similar to the broccoli, which I believe was meant to be covered in cheese, though I didn’t feel brave enough to try it. The mashed potatoes were nearly cold and tasted worse than instant; in fact, I would have preferred instant. The salad was soggy from the dressing, and the deviled eggs tasted inexplicably off—not in a good way. It's really disheartening to write this, as we genuinely wanted to love the place for its ambiance and the friendly staff. I rarely say this, but I recommend that you steer clear of this restaurant, as you will likely be disappointed. Instead, consider driving to Kendall’s for a proper steak and salad.

We went with a big party for Sunday brunch and had an explosion in the big banquet room. $3 mimosas are dangerous. We loved the sausage roll appetizer, and my chicken and waffles were great. The waffle was one of the better ones I ever had at a brunching place, and the fried chicken was pretty firm for a steakhouse. Our table tried all kinds of food, including frog legs, bacon cup (weirdly served cold instead of hot and fresh bacon), and pretty much half the brunch menu. Everyone seemed to love their food except one. For those who did not, they felt that the Kaprese was a little of a miss, but we had so much extra food that it was not much for us. The pineapples mimosas are definitely the movement here. Much better than the standard We'll try the steaks again soon!
