Main course Adana kebab with rice and salad and an eggplant dish prepared in a tomato base; they were lovely. The food is cooked when you order, no reheating. Just fabulous.
My partner I were unsure of what to expect when we went to Shamim Afghan Cuisine today. What we did get was an amazing meal full of exotic spices and different tastes as well as being delighted with the lovely young couple who cooked, served, cleared the table and were just really nice people! We both started our meal with the Chicken soup (soup with chicken, rice, pigeon peas herbs) spicy, tasty and most enjoyable.Graham chose the Qabuli Palow (Lamb shank, carrot sultana with rice, salad chutney) he was pleased with his choice of main meal. The meal was flavoursome and there was 'plenty of it '. The meat was very tender came easily off the bone. The rice with carrot sultana was a good mix of sweet savoury; the salad of 2 olives, wedges of tomato, lettuce, parsley pickled cabbage with a drizzle of mild mayonnaise was fresh, colourful and well presented on the plate.I chose the Shamim Special Kebab Sultani (Premium Angus beef skewer with rice, salad, bread chutney) and was definitely pleased with my main meal selection. The beef, sitting on flat bread, was mildly spiced, succulent and I enjoyed every mouthful. My rice was a mix of white saffron long grain rice enjoyable on it 's own but wonderful to enjoy with the meat, salad (the same as was on Graham 's plate) the chutney (I loved the chutney) as well as the half lime that came on my plate. It was all beautifully presented and a mouthful of taste came with every part of the meal.We finished off our meal with the Creamy Rice with Walnut for those of you thinking 'Rice Cream ' of the past forget it! This was rice that had been creamed, spiced and topped with walnut pistachio pieces, A wonderful way to finish off our meal. Our experience at Shamim Afghan Cuisine leaves us with only one more comment we 'll be back again!
Food was great, very nice taste without being too over powering. Presentation was good. Customer service was excellent. Creamy rice pudding dessert topped it off. Highly recommended
Do not bother. Long wait times, flavourless food. It made me wonder, how could the place smell so good when the food tastes so bland? Last time I drove past there was newspaper over the windows. The people have decided.
Ordinary restaurant with expensive price, I wouldn't recommend it to any one!!
