I sat at a table on the terrace with a nice view of the harbor and Gräsö. The tables were properly spaced out, and I had a table by the window. Despite it being early September, the terrace was slightly cold. I decided to order the catch of the day, which was a fried Zander filet. The meal was delicious, served with roast potatoes and a tasty sauce that complemented the Zander well. The fish was cooked perfectly. The service was efficient and friendly.
I was eagerly anticipating dinner at this popular local spot, but it was a letdown. The staff was unhelpful and made mistakes with our order. They were unfriendly when we inquired about when our food would be ready. To top it off, they gave us the incorrect bill to pay. The food was okay, but not exceptional. I would not return to this restaurant.
When Köket opened a few years ago, it was a delight to find a restaurant that didn't just offer the standard menu found in other establishments in this small town. Visiting the newly opened Söderströms Veranda this summer, I was pleased to see that they continue to serve high-quality and sophisticated cuisine compared to their competitors. The food is generally well-prepared, but could benefit from a touch more refinement. The service is experienced and above average. My only complaints are that the wine list is limited and there are limited options for ordering drinks by the glass. I also believe that having the same menu throughout the entire season in a small town like Öregrund makes things too easy. I suggest changing some of the dishes weekly to keep customers coming back.
