Flying Pig Pub Kitchen - Oceanside

We had brunch late yesterday and decided to try the fried chicken benedict. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The Bloody Mary was delicious, especially with the flavored salt rim. The waffle fries were perfectly seasoned and cooked. As for the benedict, the eggs were a bit overcooked, the gravy was alright, the English muffin was fine, and the chicken batter was good although the chicken itself was overdone. The restaurant had a nice décor and the outdoor patio was perfect for enjoying a sunny day.

This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to when I'm in downtown Oceanside. They have really good fried chicken and strong drinks. If you like mac cheese and I recommend trying their mac cheese it's super cheesy. All of their drinks are strong and they have unique flavor pairings. The staff is super nice and attentive but the restaurant is a little small but that's typical for DT

Delicious food, fantastic drinks. Surprising combinations that are enjoyable to experience. Perfect spot for people-watching on Mission Street, and the owners are very attentive to their customers' needs. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid-back, with a catchy name.

Came here with a few friends. We were seated quickly and our server got our drink orders. We then waited for food order it was a busy Saturday night and we were enjoying our conversation so not a problem. Food came missing one order. I ordered the deep fried shrimp and roasted vegetables. The shrimp is very heavily breaded so that the breading to shrimp ratio is off. The roasted vegetables were served in a bowl and swimming in liquid first time I have seen that and not a good taste. Beautifully roasted veggies do not need soaking! Three friends ordered short ribs, one order which was largely fat this was returned to the kitchen and replaced quickly, with apologies from the server and the chef. The banana pudding dessert was scrumptious!

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. After having breakfast across the street, we decided to give this place a try. We came back in the afternoon and were impressed by everything. The happy hour was fantastic and we will definitely be returning when we are in town again.
