A little bakery, but... a real bakery. Fresh made goods and a pretty good choice. Some items can sell early. I quit every day I'm in OC. Our favorites are turnover, Danish and buttercake. Only cash.

The donuts were fabulous. Also their pastries melt in your mouth. Lovely shop. Many cookies jars line the wall shelves. Great staff.

One of the things that adds to the charm is their collection of vintage cookie tins that serve as decorative elements. Recently, I picked up a dozen Fried Cinnamon treats for my grandmother. I made sure to get up early to grab them, knowing they don't keep well, and I was eager to share them with her. These treats are a delightful mix between donuts and cinnamon rolls, topped with icing. Although this special batch was quickly devoured, they tasted just as delicious as ever! Ward's is not one of those trendy, Instagram-worthy bakeries with countless donut flavors, but it has an amazing story and offers wonderful pastries. If you're considering where to buy a birthday cake, skip Acme and go to Ward's instead. I truly hope to return every summer for the rest of my life!
