Sunset Grill - Oakville

Brittany was the most superb server we’ve had in years we’ve dined out at all types of places in our lives. She was cheerful, detail oriented, accurate anticipated our needs (before we needed to ask! . She was a dream really! And the restaurant was very clean (even the washroom! sun-filled. Sandy, the owner, seems to be very experienced runs a tight ship. We’ll be back even if we have to drive a lot further to go to this Cornwall, Oakville location!

My daughter just bought a $50 gift certificate at this location for her 88 year old grandmother’s birthday (June 17). Today her grandmother took her for breakfast and then presented the card for payment. Was told it had no value loaded. So they presented proof of payment. The lady manager appeared and said she didn’t care accused them of using the card elsewhere and trying to scam them for a free meal. Unbelievable. Please avoid this place. Not deserving of anyone’s business. Disgusting

Unfortunately, the only good thing left about this location is server Zahara. Since the new management took over, I have not had one good experience. They are open until 3pm during the week, but we showed up at 2:25pm the other day and were turned away because the cook didn't want to cook for us. Also, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we were seated DIRECTLY behind another table which was probably one foot from us. There was plenty of space, they just wanted to keep their cleaning area confined to a smaller area (the restaurant is tiny so that makes no sense). I really miss the older couple that ran the place and had hoped the quality and friendliness would continue, but it hasn't. Also, here's a tip for you. Extend your hours to make more money? When you're turning people away at 2:25pm, you have no business sense whatsoever.

Yesterday 10th June 2022, I brought a friend of mine to have breakfast at sunset grill and what I observed that a waitress (black frame glasses , black hair and 5 feet 1 inches in height was very rude to the Uber driver as I was sitting close by and witnessed that the driver was only checking his order number on the bag and this woman an employee on sunset grill was very rudely treated and told him to go and stand Close to the outside door until you are called upon....my only concern is if the rude staff of sunset grill acts like this I prefer not to bring my friends or family to this restaurant and not to recommend anyone else as food can be bought from anywhere but attitude cannot be changed hope sunset grill at Cornwall discipline this employee

The food is simply one word delicious . I love love coming to this restaurant. From the staff, service and food is simply outstanding. I am not sure why the previous review mentions management. If I go to any restaurant, I go for the food and the service I receive from the waitress. I definitely do not go to a restaurant because of management. Heck most of the time I don 't even know who management is or ever really see them.
