Excellent viet iced coffee and $6.50 for a proper banh mi. Pretty hard to beat that anywhere these days!Also has a shared parking lot, which can be a little tight. Super convenient.

This spot was a place I went to every morning with my dad when I was in elementary school and it was so nostalgic stepping back in here still seeing OG's hanging out there drinking Vietnamese coffee. Simon took this place and leveled up the food, which I had high expectations for. He is so hospitable and made great conversation with me. I'm inspired by his motivation and drive to constantly better himself and his business.I was finally in town and had time to stop by for the first time to buy banh mi for my mom. I got her the banh mi xiu mai and when she ate it, she told me it was good. MY MOM ALMOST NEVER LIKES ANYTHING!! I tried some and y'all!!! She was right! If you're reading this, TRY THE BANH MI XIU MAI TODAY! I can't wait to come back again soon! Good job Simon, I'm so proud of you!

Time: July 2022 *have been several times before then Great local restaurant with a parking lot (rare for Oakland). It's located in a strip mall with some other restaurants and a laundromat. This restaurant also sells lotto/scratchers. I've tried a variety of apps from here (ie, chicken wings, egg rolls, etc) and they're all solid in taste. I haven't tried that many entrées yet, because I always end up getting my favorite dish each time. This place has one of the best thit noung I've ever had. It's seasoned so well (savory with hints of lemongrass sweetness), and always juicy. The side veggies (lettuce, cucumber, and tomato) are also fresh and crisp. The fish sauce is also bomb. It's tangy, savory, and provides a nice heat. Delicious! The portion size is also really great, and pricing is good.Although there is a bambú in the same strip mall, I highly recommend trying a drink here. Their Vietnamese coffee and sugar cane juice mind blowing. Viet coffee: really strong and achieves the perfect balance between the sweetness and aroma of this type of drink. I get this every time I am here. I would pick this over a Starbucks coffee any day, and it's cheaper too! Nouc Mia: the only bad part is that it's seasonal. It is so delicious. I've never ordered two non alcoholic drinks at restaurants for myself, but I have to whenever they have this available! It's refreshing and not too sweet, it is comparable to the famous nouc mia of San Jose. Their bun mi is also yummy! The bread is soft and fresh, but the outer crust still maintains a nice flakiness upon biting into it. Not a lot of places have Vietnamese siu mai, so this is super unique that they serve this. Sweet and savory, the siu mai is so good I wish it was bigger so I could eat more!Overall, I highly recommend checking this place out! They have a large menu that is affordable and unique. Wonderful lunch spot if you're in the area!
