Playa Azul - Oakland

Not many restaurants prioritize presentation, but take a look at the chabela! It's truly impressive and comes with delicious toppings. Definitely worth trying. I would give it 5 stars, but the food was a bit bland and the quesadillas lacked meat in every bite. I would be willing to give it another chance.

I went into looking for a chicken or fish dish that was very flavorful. The owner chose an amazing one for me the fish fajitas. The 2 salsas that came with the tortilla chips were also deliciously spicy I tend to not eat really spicy food anymore, but it was hard to stop eating. The fish fajitas was one of the best fish dishes I've ever had in my life. The only thing I think could be improved to have made my experience significantly better was to have received some more of the green/milder salsa (though still spicy! at the start.

They had the live mariachis!!! They are marisqueria meaning their specialty is seafood i order camarones al mojo de ajo (garlic sauteed shrimp) it was a generous plate my lady got a torta de asada . They are happy and very lively owners I would modify the restaurant inside to is true name the blue beach, la playa azul cheers

The menudo was excellent.
