Mama's Royal Cafe - Oakland

I really enjoyed the breakfast, especially the pancakes, bacon and potatoes.

I absolutely adore the pancakes and cheesy scrambled eggs at this restaurant.

Mama's Royal Cafe is my go-to breakfast spot in the East Bay. I have been a loyal customer for years. Their breakfast potatoes are unmatched and delicious. I particularly enjoy their freshly squeezed orange juice and hot chocolate, which is not overly sweet like other places. The real whipped cream is the perfect topping for the hot chocolate and adds just the right amount of sweetness.

Ordered the biscuit topped with fried egg. The generous gravy is vegetarian- mushrooms/walnuts. The gravy is creative, a little sweet. Biscuit is substantial. The egg is over easy, medium: cooked perfectly for me. I would like to see this dish apos;s flavor bumped up the option to add some hot spice on the side or grilled onions or something. This dish is large enough as a side for 3-4 people or a very very hungry person. In addition, I got the crab cheese sandwich which I apos;m saving for lunch. I haven apos;t tried this yet, so no comment. My nephew got the scrambled eggs with potatoes bacon. Overall, if I am in the area again, I would order this again.

The eggs and toast were delicious. The home fries are really lacking. Some undercooked, lots of potato skin, no seasoning, and one piece tasted moldy.
