I B's Hoagies - Oakland

Love IB’s. That includes breakfast and lunch. After working on Broadway for a number of years, we’ve tried nearly everything on the menu. For breakfast, pancakes and their breakfast sandwiches are always fresh and piping hot. For lunch, the cheesesteaks are probably the most popular but I love the hot pastrami sandwich which oozes cheese and grilled onions. The fries and onion rings are solid what you’d expect for something that comes straight out of a deep fryer. Service is good and the owner is pretty cool. It gets crowded at lunch so be prepared to wait. Parking isn’t easy either but don’t let that deter you from making the trip. IB’s is legit.

I love their cheesesteak sandwiches. I even measured it for anyone reading this comment to take notes on and utilize. There will always be exceptions, but I order the mushroom cheesesteak with nothing but the mushrooms, meat, and cheese on it. Based on that, my measurements yielded a sandwich exactly 8-8.5 inches long, 2 inches tall, and 2.7-3.0 inches wide. I also tend to order a small fries, but I don't know how to measure those for a container to hold them separately. I do hope that this information is useful for anyone looking to order a cheesesteak sandwich from here, and carry it in a container that will allow it to travel better.

Always heard good reviews about this place. Decided to try it myself and it lived up to the hype. Food is good, nice and hot and service is great. The dinning area has never been full whenever I’ve stopped by too

This place is simply cool. beautiful location. the old school look and the owner of 28 years took my order and was a pleasure to meet him. I asked about the place and ran some of the organic history a classic history of internal running gear and purpose. I had an omelette and it was an NICE part. feels like a local facility in this neighbourhood. I'm just here for a few days and it's my first time, but I'll be back.
