A Cote - Oakland

My skirt steak appeared not to be a skirt steak but a thin cut rib eye steak.

Everything was excellent! A Cote got in touch about a menu substitution they had to make, and the replacement version was amazing. Very polite person who explained everything. Dessert was even better than expected. Definitely planning to order again for the right occasion.

Food and service were great. Started with Frito Misto, it had shrimp, squid, and fennel that are battered and fried. There were shishito peppers on the side that were awesome. Hearts of Romaine with buttermilk herb dressing was very good. I had the Boar over creamy polenta which tasted very good and was rich. My husband had the mussels because I never had them before and he wanted me to try one. I didn’t know what I have been missing. The mussels are amazing! We ended with chocolate mousse which was just ok. It did not taste chocolatey. Our server was very friendly l, knowledgeable and did not rush us. We ate outside on a cold evening but the fire lamps kept us toasty warm. It was a wonderful date night location for me and my husband.

Amazing as always! Love the atmosphere, staff, and the food. It’s a true gem and we love it.

We celebrated our 25-year anniversary because A Cote is one of our favorite restaurants and we had so many stellar meals and celebrations over the years. Our place for visitors from the far and near, and everyone asks to come back. Great place!
