Rare Bird Preserves - Oak Park

I went in today when in the area for the Chicago yarn crawl and I bought a muffin, two chocolate spelt cookies, and some jam. I haven't tried the jam yet but the muffin was delicious and perfect, soft and amazing. And the cookies were to die for. She said they had a slightly different texture but they basically were soft and chewy and amazing. I would definitely go again for their amazing pastries.

5 stars for the amazingly delicious warm sticky bun, excellent service free parking! The sticky bun was so decadent I was lucky that it was fresh out of the oven. It’s one of the best pastries I’ve had in a while! The flavors are so balanced, it’s not too sweet the texture of the bun is perfect. It’s worth going just for that. Picked up peach lavender jam, lemon curd, spelt chocolate chip cookies, orange poppyseed shortbread cookies some scones. The chocolate chip cookie is also delish. … – show

Probably the best scones I have ever had. They are a bit pricy, but goodness do you get what you pay for.

Cutest shop for preserves, curds and gifts. There are amazing seasonally chosen pastries publican quality bread on Saturdays. At least one Sunday a month is dedicated to workshops/classes. (Bread baking, cookies and cake decorating, preserving, pickling and macarons to name a few! Stop by for a tasting any Saturday.
