Portillo's Hot Dogs - Oak Park

I had a fantastic hot dog during my visit on my way to the Frank Lloyd Wright Home. The long line in the drive-thru was a clear indication of how popular this place is, and I can see why! While I usually prefer French fries, the onion rings stole the show and were absolutely delicious.

I ordered ahead to pick up my my food at 11:30. 11:40 and it is still not ready. It would have been better to just come in and order in the store.

Every customers nightmare I placed a order with my partner and went shopping at Walmart for household needs. We go to the portillos parking lot and hangout a bit. Watch people just throwing there trash in the lot. And drunk idiots come over. My girl placed the order so she wanted to go in. I am so glad she didn't. I took the initiative to go in myself. I go, check the delivery takeout; even though I doubt it'd be there. Then walk to the pickup area. I looked at a couple bags on the counter and, it wasn't there. So I wait a couple minutes and boom. There was already a storm behind the counter and the tornado came had just came in .These drunk idiots come in the portillos laughing like hyenas. Making every situation possible worst, with immature teens behind the counter and drunk idiots starting fights with the register people. I was surrounded by bozos . No one took of authority kicking these goofballs out. The night manager was a douchebag. Making a what seemed to be new employee feel like **** and not leading these loud mouth employees at the pickup section. Anyways, I waited my 10 minutes and watch this **** show go on between the horrible manager be a jerk and a chubby black girl yelling at whatever she can. I finally asked someone for help. I just had to yell hey and I got 5 faces to finally look at me. Ah great. So now I have this pink hair brat doll come up to me and told me to check the delivery area and come back. She asked for the name. I gave it and then, and then THINK PINK HAIR BRAT AND CHUBBY LOUD MOUTH STARTS MOCKING ME as I'm walking to the delivery pick up area. Being as loud and obnoxious as these drunk hyenas currently in the store. What in the **** is going on here. I just wanted to leave at that point but I came back and said the order is there there. They ask me again what the name was. I said it, knowing they knew damn well who the order is for. These loud hyenas were in the back of the pickup area being loud and obnoxious to every other customer that just walked in or was already hanging out. So the brat doll had the audacity to ask me again what the name was and I was just so through with it. I didn't even know what to say or do. I just waited for my ordered and stayed quiet. Coworkers say just do the order. Order is being processed and boom finally were out. Worst 20 minutes in a portillos ever

Additionally, when I requested fries with no salt, they seemed to interpret that as dumping an entire container of salt on them! On my last visit, the young woman behind the counter didn't acknowledge me in any way when I approached. There was no greeting, no "May I take your order?"—it was as if I was supposed to ask her what she wanted instead. Last week, I waited an unreasonable amount of time for my order, which was just sitting on the counter the whole time. It would have remained there if I hadn’t asked about it. When they finally handed it to me, they didn’t even check to ensure everything I ordered was included. Of course, it wasn’t, so I had to turn back and ask for the missing items. My orders are usually quite simple, so the fact that they still manage to get it wrong is extremely frustrating. Every time I go in, I'm left hoping they will finally get my order right. Given the number of mistakes, I really don't feel inclined to return. Something definitely needs to be addressed here.

We've stopped at this restaurant the last three times we've visited the city, and unfortunately, our orders have been wrong each time. Today was the worst experience yet. The young man took our order and repeated it back correctly after each item, but after waiting 20 minutes, we received the wrong order. Stephanie came out and refused to correct it, claiming we didn't order what we thought we did, even though the mistake was not ours and the order was missing condiments. When I mentioned contacting corporate, she wouldn't provide the young man's name. The staff members seemed more focused on socializing than on taking orders accurately and their customer service was lacking. I won't be returning to this location and will advise family and friends to avoid it as well. Terrible customer service.
