The cheese balls are amazing and the best part of the experience. they seem to have young kids running the place so it’s a bit disorganized. we had to ask about our drink order because it never came out. the sandwich was very good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

I love popping in to grab a quick espresso or coffee. The beans they use for both are top quality. Be careful around lunch and early afternoon hours. Lots of guest ordering food items and that process usually takes a long time when there are more than three people in line. I wish they could implement a process to streamline this or a drinks only line because the length of time it takes to order and make a shot of espresso does not warrant a 10-15 min wait.

Mulata is an absolute gem in the Chicago area and a true treasure in Oak Park! I can't help but give them 5 stars because they truly deserve it. The chicken empanadas are simply incredible—so moist and bursting with flavor. As a Brazilian expat, the taste instantly transports me back to the flavors of my homeland. But it doesn't stop with the empanadas; the Bobo, PF, and Feijoada are all delicious, and I can honestly say I've never had a meal here that wasn’t outstanding. The food offers a delightful journey through Brazilian cuisine, and it's clear that the chefs pour their heart and soul into each dish. And let's not forget the desserts—they are out of this world! Each visit is a wonderful experience for the taste buds, and Mulata is a must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic taste of Brazil in Chicago. Thank you, Cristiane, for bringing a piece of our homeland to the Windy City. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Obrigado!
