Shagger Jacks - Oak Island

This is a fantastic spot! I would definitely return here. The food and service were excellent—this was by far the best place we dined at during our visit. The service was outstanding, even though we were the last table before closing time.

Shagger Jack's menu is different than others. Plantains here are amazing. The new Orleans inspired food is always delicious. Ft Fisher Tacos and the Crispy Checken sandwich or a Bowl are our favorite. Karen behind the bar keeps you laughing!

We live within an easy walk to Shagger Jacks. We typically don't go during the tourist season because of the crowds. But when we go, we have good food at competitive prices. If you decide to go, try the green fried tomatoes. You'll be glad you did. Consistently good food, even after a recent owner and chef change.

Great food at reasonable prices. Had the appetizer special which was fried grouper bites, and coleslaw with fries. Wife had the shrimp island bowl and the kids split the shrimp skewer, wings and fries. All were really good and service was excellent! Definitely a must stop when you’re in OKI.
