The Snug Pub - Oak Bay

Snug used to be one of our favorite restaurants, blending old favorites with new dishes using fresh ingredients at reasonable prices. However, after not visiting for 4 or 5 months, we were disappointed by the limited menu options and high prices. We ordered the 8oz steak with pommes, only to find the steak less than a centimeter thick and priced at $55. Even a hamburger cost $27 and desserts were $16. While we understand prices have increased, the value just isn't there anymore. Despite the restaurant's efforts to improve, we will not be returning.

The view is amazing from the pub. Love the dark wood doll. The food was very good. Not your typical pub food, but it was very good. The food is more elevated that regular pub food. Service was great and professional.

The staff was exceptional, treating us like family and helping in every way possible. The drinks were flavorful and not watered down, with one of the best martinis I have ever had. Well done!

During our stay at the hotel, we dined at The Snail for breakfast and dinner multiple times. The staff was incredibly friendly, with Henry standing out as especially accommodating. The food was delicious, with the spaghetti Carbonara being particularly remarkable – I'm tempted to ask for the recipe! Opt for an outdoor table to enjoy a stunning view of the coast below.

We stayed at the hotel dined here numerous times, as well as ordered room service breakfasts. We had lunch on the patio with the amazing ocean views… friendly staff, good drinks, nice salads the maple wings were amazing. It’s certainly an upscale pub...with higher prices… catering to hotel guests who are willing to pay for the views, service the convenience.
