Contribuiți la feedbackI ordered my food at 6:30pm and was quoted 40 minutes for collection. I had planned to leave in the next 10 mins or so as it would have taken me 30 minutes to get there and get cash out as they don’t accept card. Within 10 minutes I received a call saying my food was ready. I then had to rush to drive there knowing that my food was sat going cold as they quoted me the wrong time. When I got there the man told me it wasn’t ready, despite calling me and saying it was. I asked to speak to the manager and was then surrounded by 6 men who were clearly trying to intimidate me being a small woman on my own. The manager then told me that my food was in fact ready and gave it to me. I checked to see if it was warm as by the time I got there it had been half an hour since they called and told me it was ready due to misquoting me 40 mins then having it ready in 10. The food was not hot. They continued to try and intimidate me by surrounding me with several male members of staff. Sadly for them I was not easily intimidated. I asked the manager recook my food otherwise I was not taking it or paying and it was evident that he just microwaved it, but pretended it had been recooked by making me wait an extra 15 minutes as if it had been recooked. The food itself wasn’t bad but it was warm at best by the time I got it home and had clearly been microwaved. The service is appalling. Misquoting me the wrong time meant my food sat and went cold. Surrounding me with 6 male members of staff when I asked to talk to a manager was a poor attempt in trying to intimidate me. Not once did they say sorry for their mistake or offer something to rectify it. I had to argue to get my food recooked and it was evident they microwaved it. Despite the food being ok, I wouldn’t go back due to the service being so disgusting and them trying to intimidate me into taking the warm food. Avoid at all cost!!
Leicester has a plethora of established and new Indian dining choices, in particular the “ pub curry” types of which this is one. I had wanted to visit here for quiet a while and quiet frankly, I wish I hadn’t. Firstly the positives.. There aren’t any. Now the rest.. This place doesn’t accept cards. Cash only. So one of us had to leave the restaurant and find a cash point and then come back. This is 2022, not 1974. We were seated in what is effectively a pub. Nothing wrong with that. Except we were placed in the immediate vicinity of the rather unsavoury locals who only drink here and subjected to some pretty disgusting language. The table adjacent to us had a large family celebrating a birthday with lots of children and elderly family members. This didn’t seem to put off the locals with their blue language and I noticed what appeared to be a senior manager of some sort talking with them and not remotely concerned about the language of what I can only assume are his friends. The menus came, stick and clearly covered in dried sauce, the only her had missing pages. By now I new we should just LEAVE. We were then told to buy drinks FROM THE F G bar.. and pay at the bar. And they refused to serve pints of soft drinks, you are forced to buy premium bottled drinks only. We all know why. When ready to order the food we had to leave our seats and ask the man behind the desk to take our order. He said he would send a waiter. Up to now, we hadn’t seen one. The waiter came and took the order. When asked questions or given requests about how we’d like the food, he just shook his head very politely and said YES to every single question. This pretty much told us what was coming. The food came, the starters were mostly ok but the paneer pakoras were nothing short of revolting. The mains also came and most were ok, but mine was so salty it was inedible. When I saw what appeared to be a waiter at the far side of the pub, I approached him and explained my tadka daal was far too salty to eat. He shook his head very politely and just said “ YES”. So I went hungry. I needed the restroom but they were out of order so I had no choice but to go in the car park around the back. The bill was reasonable and portions generous but without question this has to be the very very worst dining experience I’ve ever encountered. Ever. They should place a sign by the door requesting you wipe your feet on the way out. Avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid this place. There are dozens of far superior alternatives. God punished us for not going to Paddy’s Marten inn.
Really tasty food, accommodating to dietary requirements, big portions. Especially impressed with the salt pepper okra and the vegetable sizzler. Will be eating from here again!
Food was bland and not spicy at all, only decent thing was the chilli mogo and paneer. Waited nearly an hour to get mains after starters, so the service was slow and disappointing. I'd heard good things before I went but was not impressed on my first (and last) visit.
Trying to find something positive to say but it’s very difficult after the disappointing meal we’ve just received. The “ onion salad” was just badly chopped raw onion, the curries were awful... so salty to be almost inedible and the onion bajhis were falling apart...a waste of £35 as most of it went in the bin, along with the menu to make sure we don’t order from here again :
