Having been there many times, we consider that this is a solid choice in Nyon for lunch, dinner or Saturday branch. All plates of the-short menu-are interesting and well prepared. Service is effective and friendly and the inside of the restaurant is particularly cosy in winter. The resto is not cheep. What we like to see is the menu to change more frequently and follow the seasons.
Have visited Cafe du Marche for several years (since the current owners bought the place). Always very good food. Interesting small menu but very well cooked. The place is very small and intimate so be prepared to sit very close to other diners... one of my favorites places in Nyon.
The chef/owner graciously came out to help us translate the menu (oh Americans..). We selected 3 items to share and loved them all. The aparatif of cold potato leak soup was Devine, the Mackerel bruschetta we devoured (I've never had anything like it, so so good). We tried the fish and chips, a specialty of the English born chef, and they were delicious. Last but not least we shared the Sea Bass with puréed asparagus salsa verde, again, couldn't have asked for better. Highly recommended!! And after dinner I also recommend a stroll through the streets surrounding this hidden delight.
We have enjoyed this restuarant on a couple of occassions and the food is fresh and the menu is interesting but it is not cheap. However, the prices are on par with similar restuarants in the area and frankly the food is just so much better. It is also a cute restaurant in the middle of Nyon, no view, but if you want good food, this is the place to go.
