Contribuiți la feedbackThis is the only REAL Japanese restaurant in this entire area on both sides of the river. The decoration is a little dated, but clean. Excellent table service. The food is good and more original than the Fast Food make Fusion Sushi place you see everywhere. The price is reasonable. We live over the river and if we don't eat in the city this is the place.
All we tried was top-notch. I was particularly pleased that at my first visit when I ordered the Aji Special, the Sushi Cook asked if I had ever fried Aji bones. When I said I had not, but that it sounded interesting (and commented to my wife that a restaurant where she recommends unusual dishes at our first visit is definitely my type of place), the cook had prepared it and served me free.
Local, family atmosphere, with traditional FRESH Japanese cuisine. I love this place. And the sushi kitchens are very friendly. Sit at the sushi bar! I recommend starting the Murasaki Carpaccio...
I'd live here if they didn't kick me out every Monday night. The Sushi cuisine is new here. They really dominated their art.
Best Japanese food I 've had in Rockland, innovatively prepared and for two people with Sake, three appetizers, two entrees, extra tea, the check of only $60 was entirely reasonable. We also enjoyed the service. Attentive but not overly hovering, friendly, informational, etc. The hijiki was served warm a real surprise. The Age Dashi Tofu (fried bean curd) was barely fried with a very light, tasty coating and wonderful sauce. My Nabeyaki Udon was perfectly prepared... ...unlike at many places I never felt the need to start piling on soy sauce to add flavor. The sushi was exquisitely fresh. Nothing even slightly fishy about the mackerel, e.g., and the tuna was just amazing. In sum, I 'll give Wasabi a whirl sometime, but already have the feeling this is the one in Nyack I 'll be back to....
