Contribuiți la feedbackA pleasant surprise in an Italian restaurant and pizzeria. You walk past the pizza takeout to a white tablecloth restaurant in the back. Typical Italian decor, but unusually good food, in my opinion. An extensive menu, with lots of specials, from lobster to veal to all the pastas. We ate here two nights in a row-which is a recommendation in itself. First night, we were tired from a stressful road trip, but felt ourselves relax with the friendly service and warm ambiance. Bella, our server, was warm and helpful with suggestions. We shared the eggplant rollatini, stuffed with ricotta and mozzarella (a cheese explosion in the mouth! topped with a delicious red sauce, heavy on tomatoes and--more melted cheese. Side salads were big enough to be a meal in themselves. Homemade oil and vinegar dressing had some nice herbs. We noticed quite a few diners ordered wine, although we chose not to imbibe. The second night we wanted a light meal after a family party. I had the chicken and spinach soup. Flavorful broth and lots of ingredients. We split a Greek salad, which had artichoke hearts and roasted red peppers. The only disappointment was a side order of meatballs. It was two gigantic meatballs, mostly filler, but in that delicious sauce. Amici's was moderately busy both Friday and Saturday nights, another good sign. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for hearty, Italian fare.
I understand there are new owners. I ordered pasta with meat sauce. Well it was terrible!!!!! Very salty, the meat sauce was 90% meat (great) however NO sauce mixed in so it wasn't good. SALTY!!!!!!!!
Absolutely love this place. Huge portions, great food, wonderful service, such cute seating in the back. My boyfriend and I go here pretty often and we're always so happy with the service. We spend the same amount of money here as we do when we go out anywhere else and we always have leftovers. Everyone is so nice here and I never have a complaint.
I been watchin ' you a long time Trying to figure out where and when We 've been moving down that same line The time is now maybe we could get skin to skin Baby, let 's be friends Come on, let 's be friends Bruce Springsteen) Language Quiz! Q How do you say friends in Italian? A Amici We were driving back from Cape May and could no longer ignore the hunger pangs, so we stopped on Route 59 in Nyack to feed our faces at Amici. Amici has a split personality the front of the store is a pizzeria with a few booths and a showcase of pizza by the slice. The back of the store is a much fancier nicely decorated white tablecloth restaurant. We split three pizza slices a cheese, a chicken with broccoli, and a Margherita tomatoes, basil, garlic and mozzarella cheese). The slices were quite large and a slice and a half was plenty for lunch. The crust was a little thicker and chewier than what I 'm used to. Definitely not thin style pizza. Be aware that the chicken isn 't grilled, it was a cut up breaded chicken parmigiana cutlet. We also split a nice House salad with 2 kinds of lettuce, sliced tomatoes and cucumber, and green and black olives. It was fresh and big enough to be easily split into 2 portions. Our 3 slices, salad, and a bottle of Snapple ran $25.56. The entrees are priced very reasonably just abouit everyuthing is under $20 with pasta and a salad
I'm a fairly regular customer here and order in and visit there for dinner about once a month. I tend to stay with the entrees and usually find them to be pretty good and reasonably priced. Anyway, for a change I decided to order in a pizza this evening...this was a mistake. A very dry cardboard-like crust, uninspiring toppings, and sub-par cheese. It really reminded me of a grocery store-bought frozen pie and is not what one expects in a suburban NY area pizza restaurant. Bottom line...Amici is a very decent place with reasonable prices, and a good value for casual Italian dining. Just steer away from the pizza.
