Contribuiți la feedbackOrganic yay! The rest okay(ish ! This place is located in the Südstadt and could probably be counted as one of those alternative hipster burger shacks... The location as such is nice, their concept is based on serving entirely organic and local food, all of which is then turned into homemade and yummy burgers and chips. What I really didn't like about this place, however, was the menu. It was one of the most confusing things I've ever seen, very difficult to read and just crammed with different burger varieties. Thanks to a fellow yelper we eventually managed to find and pick something, but when we were ready to order, the staff kept us waiting for quite a while. We were sat next to the entrance (in the window, so to speak and it was drafty and cold! The burger itself was decent, the buns too soft, the patty was okay, but I couldn't even taste the onions or whatever else was on there. All in all a good burger, but nothing exceptional. The chips (fries were really (really!! small, but the crisps were seriously fantastic! They're like those kettle crisps, really thick slices and really crispy and crunchy. Bottom line: I am torn between 3 and 4 stars... ...the food is organic, local and homemade ...the burgers tasted okay, nothing exceptional ...the menu was just ****** confusing ...but the crisps were scrumptious!
I have to say Auguste was a bit of an overhype. After several people recommended this place to me, we decided to try this place. First of all, this place is super hipster, with menu full of vegan, vegetarian, and bio-stuff, including alcoholic drinks. I think it's a bit overboard or they are trying to be wannabes. I got a Lychee drink which was quite good. For food, I wanted to try the special menu item asparagus burger and boy was it disappointing. Basically, it was 2 buns with chopped up asparagus inside. Way to be creative here! Others got the Auguste burger which was good but I think you can also get the same if not better burgers at Hans im Gluck or Hempels (which I highly recommend, prolly best burgers in town! . Also, location is super far in south of Nuremberg so unless you are going by car, it's a bit of a trek from the city-center.
Great option for vegetarian/vegans! The place is small and gets easily crowded, to make a reservation is highly recommended. Good service, but they are understaffed: catching a waitress/waiter to order or pay might take a while. Food is good, but portions are small and price performance is not the best (meaning expensive, but it's bio, local, veg burgers). So food alone might get 4 stars, but overall I could not give it more than a three.
