My meal was any entree on the menu. I opted for the Argentinian skirt steak with chimichuri. It was perfectly prepared and presented. The sides (potatoes au gratin and sautéed green beans were equally well prepared. The menu is extensive leaning heavily to American classics. Service was superb.
This was a return visit after several years away. The wonderful tribute to veterans caused me to return. The recent remodeling is very nice. The food was excellent and much better than my last time here. I had an outstanding ribeye steak. I previously I considered Grillsmith to be a good lunch place with burgers, salads, and such. The menu has been nicely upgraded. Our server, Kayla, was spectacular. I will definitely be back. But they need to reduce the noise a bit.
Update!!! Grillsmith was very helpful when contacting about the order. They explained how the sauce broke because it was to go and that I totally understand. Even though I ordered thru GrubHub they made things right. Great job Grillsmith. Will definitely try this meal when dining at the restaurant as it smelled delicious. Watch if you order the Pasta Carbonara. I think they forgot to add the scoop or two of Alfredo sauce. Nothing but oil. Hard to eat.
Grillsmith is a true gem... similar to a diamond, in fact. A diamond is known by its '4-Cs ': CUT, COLOR, CLARITY, CARAT. Likewise, Grillsmith could be known by its '4-Cs ': CUISINE, COMFORT, COST CUSTOMER CARE. Grillsmith 's 'CUISINE ' has always been excellent and sumptuous in all of the variety of menu items I 've had the pleasure of consuming there. When it comes to 'COMFORT ', the ambiance and furnishings are in a warm setting making for an enjoyable and very comfortable dining experience. The 'COST ' is really quite reasonable for the excellent quality of food that Grillsmith serves. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the 'CUSTOMER CARE ' that the wait staff provides is absolutely wonderful in every way. Grillsmith has a well-trained staff of servers who truly care about making sure you have a fabulous dining experience. A special shout-out to one of their servers, TINA, who is beyond wonderful as a server and as a human being. Thank you, TINA, for all that you do for us every time we are fortunate enough to have you serve us. My Conclusion: Grillsmith is a true gem. It is the diamond of Carrollwood .
Monday is not a usual choice to go out to dinner. But since grill Smith started a price fixed three course menu and it has newly been renovated and just opened. It was always one of our favorite places so we went out. The inside is redone beautifully. We chose a table by the bar was a little cooler and we got to watch some sports while dining. Our waitress name was Destiney and she was spectacular. Her timing was perfect. The food came out right when it should appetizers soup desert main course all of it delicious, we both started with the crab bisque creamy and delicious topped with almonds. My husband had the Cajun pasta, a huge bowl enough for three people. I had the chicken Milanese beautifully done. I did join the VIP club or the fire club, and was fortunate enough to get a free Ahi tuna appetizer. Such a beautiful piece of tuna crusted and seared beautifully which was served with a spicy horseradish sauce, crispy wonton on top of a fresh avocado. We also had to try the fish and shrimp cake crispy outside chock-full of seafood delightful. All the dishes were beautifully, composed tasteful, beyond words and generous portion size. Even after eating soup and a full dinner, yes we had dessert. My Keylime pie was creamy with the crunchy crust. My husband had a very decadent chocolate cake.
