Contribuiți la feedbackAn Italian friend recommended this walk and vegan restaurant so we decided to give them a try. The walk itself is pretty nice, quite easy and along a gravel road, with some good views. Takes just 40 minutes or so. The restaurant is in a nice setting and would be great for kids, with a play area in good view of the tables. There are lots of tasty sounding choices on the menu. Our first waiter was very helpful in explaining everything to us as the menu is only in English or German. I had the lentil burgers which were delicious and came with a very generous amount of different salads. My husband chose the 3 canederli, dumplings with different fillings (herbs, cheese, vegetables) which were something new to us. The waitress recommended the carrot cake with chocolate icing as being the best of the four cakes on offer. I wasn't sure about the combination, but tried it anyway, and it was really good. I just found it odd that one of the waiters in a healthy vegan/vegetarian restaurant would smoke openly behind the till....
We decided to visit the Petersberger Leger for a birthday lunch today as it's famous for being a vegetarian mountain restaurant and the birthday girl is vegetarian. As the other reviewers have mentioned, it is a 40 minute relatively easy walk from the Pietralba car park and is situated in the middle of a meadow with stunning views back across the dip to Pietralba and of the surrounding mountains. The food is all vegetarian and vegan, and we had the vegetable goulash with one cheese dumpling, which was light and tasty, and the semolina potato dumplings on a mixed salad and curry flavoured humus, which sounds slightly awkward, but was delicious. However, make sure you leave some room for a slice of cake afterwards we had a poppy seed sponge cake, which was light and fluffy, but the definite hit was a carrot cake with chocolate icing wow! I could have eaten a couple of slices it was so nice! Together with a beer and wine and water, the whole bill came to €35 for two, which is pretty decent for South Tyrolean standards. One small thing: as many others have said here, although the service was efficient and helpful, the food came out relatively quickly but not at the same time we had eaten my gulash before the other dish had been brought out. It wasn't such a problem for us as we shared both dishes, but I can understand it would be a problem for larger groups, especially if they have children. So a bit more organisation in the kitchen would be a good thing. All in all, an excellent meal in a stunning location and it's all vegetarian; what more could you wish for?
Siamo stati qui sia in estate che a gennaio e in entrambe le occasioni abbiamo mangiato molto bene. A gennaio abbiamo particolarmente apprezzato la gentilezza e l'ospitalità dei proprietari.
