Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem - Nottingham

I was generally satisfied with my experience, but I only realized when my grandson added up the bill that a tip had been automatically included. While I would have been happy to leave a tip, I think it's a bit deceiving that it was done without informing me beforehand.

I had lunch at this restaurant with friends and family after visiting the castle. The food was incredible, the service was excellent, and it was a wonderful place to dine. As someone who was born in Nottingham but has since moved away, this restaurant always holds a special place in my heart. I was not disappointed, in fact, it was even better than I remembered.

This is not your average review. I was born in Nottingham 76 years ago and have lived in Australia for the past 72 years. I revisited Nottingham in 1973 and again in 1995. On each occasion I spent a number of hours at 'The Trip' drinking Old Peculiar. I just love that pub. It has everything I could ask for - atmosphere, history, great people, excellent food, and wine. But here's the best part. I emailed the pub about 5 days ago asking if they had any merchandise, specifically a T-shirt featuring the pub. To my surprise, the next day I received an email from Karl (who I assume is part of the management) asking for my address in Australia and my size, which I promptly provided. The T-shirt was dispatched the next day, with no mention of payment - I would have happily paid. How amazing is that?! It should be arriving in a couple of days, and I plan to post a photo on their Facebook page.

Fantastic experience! Definitely worth a visit if you are in Nottingham. The pub is steeped in history and so nich ro see for free! . Food delicious. Staff go above and beyond! Hail the ale
