Oak and Almond - Norwalk

We have been here several times over the years. The food is always good. The Little Gem Caesar salad was very good. The lettuce was nice and fresh and the dressing very creamy. The organic chicken was tasty, but the spinach was hard to chew and the little potato's didn't have a creaminess and great flavor. They were soft, but not wonderful. My husband had the salmon which he really enjoyed. He ordered it medium rare and it was perfect. The wait staff was very good. They were attentive and helpful. There were a few things I did not like. The restaurant has atmosphere, but it is too dark for someone with poor eye sight. There are too many steps for someone who has difficulty walking. When you come in from the back parking lot, there is a step up to the path (but no curb cut). There are 3 steps once you step into the restaurant. The lighting is quite dark. And, because the restrooms are downstairs, everyone uses the handicap bathroom. There is no clear sign that it should only be used by the elderly and truly handicapped. The other item is the menu. There are way too many items that are spicey. Most of the specials had either jalapeño peppers and/or chili flakes.

Love this place! I make it a point to come here whenever I visit from California. Food taste good and fresh. The service is good. Lots of parking space. The ambiance is warm and relaxing. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We had a reservation and only waited a few minutes for our table to be ready. The restaurant has a nice, spacious layout with a large dining room, smaller dining area, and a bar. The patio looked inviting, but unfortunately the weather didn't allow us to dine outside. The atmosphere was pleasant and not too loud, except for the bar area. Our server was efficient and friendly. The food was delicious, we ordered a burger, branzino, and desserts including crème brûlée and affogato. Everything was really good. Overall, it's a very nice restaurant and we are excited to return in the future.

I decided to have a spontaneous birthday lunch here and everything was fabulous. The waiter was friendly and my two kids (ages 7 and 4) really liked him. He gave them just the right amount of attention, making them feel special without being bothersome to the adults. Everyone enjoyed their meals and I even took home a loaf of the delicious rosemary bread. We will definitely be returning when we are in the area.
