The Lord Crewe - Northumberland

We were recommended to try the crab sandwich, but were disappointed with the dry bread and minimal crab filling. The steak sandwich also had little meat and was all presentation with no substance. The restaurant is only partially dog-friendly, with a dog bowl outside for pets. The staff member who greeted us made us feel unwelcome, as if we were not good enough for the place. Local establishments offer much better quality food and atmosphere for a similar price. We don't mind paying for good food, but we expect a higher standard. This was the worst dining experience we have had in years. If you want a great crab sandwich, we suggest looking elsewhere.

Sunday lunch was perfect, everything was cooked really well and tasted great. Staff really friendly and nice atmosphere in lovely surroundings!

We booked a table online for Saturday Nov 4th and it was all very straight forward, unfortunately when we arrived for some reason our table was in an area set out for customers with dogs? I'm allergic to animal hair, but stuck it out as the menu was very good and I particularly wanted the Lobster Thermidor, which was very nice. We only had mains and the one drink, as I could feel my allergy starting to take hold, which in turn leads to an asthma attack. For people booking online, this should be made clear and an option to decline eating in this area available. It spoilt the whole eating experience for me at this lovely place. The staff are lovely especially the guy who took our orders and served our meals.

We ate at the Lord Crew whilst staying in Bamburgh during the wild storm Babet. We took shelter from the storm with wines and beers the 1 st afternoon we arrived. The pub/restaurant was warm and inviting and we booked a meal for sat night. The venue was full and busy, but we were shown to our table and orders took straight away. The menu choice was amazing and catered for all tastes, from fish curry to steaks and fish/sea food. I had oysters, followed by half a lobster a fabulous meal. The venue was full of character and the staff were friendly and professional, especially the asst manager whose birthday it was that day. I would highly recommend for drinks and/or food.

I regret not choosing to dine at The Neptune in Seahouses. The fish and chips were the worst I've had in the North East. I was very disappointed with the poor quality of the food.
