The Josephine - Northumberland

We had an amazing experience at Langley Hall. The food went above and beyond our expectations in terms of variety, presentation, and most importantly, flavor. The atmosphere was ideal and inviting. We highly recommend Langley Hall to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience for a special occasion.

We had dinner at Josephine restaurant during our stay at Langley Castle. Before heading down to the restaurant, we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in the beautiful 1st floor drawing room. Our table was located in a charming alcove with lovely views of the grounds. We were pleasantly surprised by the tasty amuse bouche of ham hock and apple. However, our starters were disappointing and my wife's chicken was undercooked. The highlight of the meal was the chateaubriand for main course - the most delicious beef we've ever had, accompanied by sublime triple cooked chips. Dessert was average, but the main course stole the show. We received excellent service from Andrew, who made sure our glasses were always full and described our food choices with patience. Overall, it was a pleasant evening. Breakfast was also enjoyable, with tasty kippers and perfectly cooked poached eggs. The selection was great and once again, the service was excellent.

The food was delicious, but our main course fish was unfortunately overcooked, which we mentioned to our waiter. We were seated in the glass restaurant next to the main dining area, which lacked the same charm.

The restaurant has a stunning ambiance and offers outstanding service from highly professional staff who are knowledgeable and welcoming. The breakfast options are exceptional, with both continental and full English choices available. You can customize your breakfast to your liking. In addition, there is an alternative evening menu offered in addition to the regular a la carte menu, providing a variety of options. I highly recommend dining here.

My wife and I had dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was fantastic with a classy feel about it. My wife said the Halibut was the best she had tasted and the pudding was everything she loves, liquorice , gingerbread and roasted fig. The service was brilliant and very attentive especially Aiden who talked us through everything on the menu. You will not be disappointed.
