Thai Orchid - Northumberland

The food at this restaurant is exceptional. Whether dining in or getting takeout, I have always been impressed. My favorite dish is the pad Thai with Tofu, and the menu has a great variety of vegan and vegetarian options. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. The vegetables are cooked perfectly, providing a great texture. The staff is friendly and there is a good selection of drinks at the bar.

I was a little disappointed after being at the restaurant before I really enjoyed it. I had booked for my husband and I anniversary. We decided to book for a Thai husband had never been before. I phoned and booked half 6. I then got called to tell me I should never been able book 6.30 and it's only slots of 5-7 or 7-9 slots they do and that person wasn't their to take my booking which made me feel like it was my fault. So I did change to 7 but then after finishing the phone call decided to just cancel. After having quite a few nice meals and take aways already from the Thai it's now been let down by this occasion by their customer service. I'm not sure if I will want to come back after feeling the way I did which was meant to be a happy meal out.

Once again, I enjoyed delicious, fresh food at this restaurant. This time, I dined in rather than getting takeout. Scott provided friendly service in this family-friendly establishment.

This restaurant is excellent, food is superb and the staff(Scott) are very knowledgeable of the menu and answered questions on the various different dishes to help us make our mind up on what to have. Try the Angry Lamb dish it is excellent, i have never seen this as an option anywhere else we will return again to enjoy this hidden gem of a place.
